Walking Holidays in Torquay and Devon
In Devon you have a huge amount of choice whether in-land or on the coast. In-land the most obvious place for stunning scenery and walks to suit all capabilities is Dartmoor. There are several set walks to enjoy, or make a route of your own from tor to tor – just make sure you are well prepared; walking equipment can be hired.
On the coast you have the stunning south west cost path, that stretches an impressive 630 miles from Minehead (North Devon) to Poole harbour in Dorset. There is a dedicated website to it http://www.southwestcoastpath.com/ - here you can find hundreds of walks with varying difficulty and length.
Around Torquay there are many beautiful walks, most with stunning views. On a clear day you can see all the way to Portland Bill (about 50miles away). Recommended walks include Berry Head and Cockington Estate. The Tourist Information centre can recommend a long list of walks and can offer information about guided walks around the English Riviera and beyond.
